Overview of Guangxi Research Center for Microbial and Enzyme Engineering Technology
The establishment of Guangxi Research Center for Microbial and Enzyme Engineering Technology, relying on the advantages of Guangxi University in scientific research and talent training, provides a platform for technological innovation, talent training and social services in Guangxi biological industry.
The center vigorously promotes the cooperation of industry-university-research, improves the innovation system of the biological industry, and breaks through the adjustment of industrial structure and key technical problems. The center focuses on promoting the technological progress of universities, enterprises and industries, accelerating the construction of an innovative Guangxi and the optimization and upgrading of its industrial structure, and enhancing the independent innovation ability and the core competitiveness of the industry. The center is promoting the sustainable development of the biological industry in Guangxi, and then making positive contributions to the smooth implementation of the "14 + 10" industrial cluster and the "Guangxi Biological Industry Development Plan".
Research area:
(1)The discovery of new biocatalyst:the traditional strain screening, mutagenesis and rapid screening technology, obtain a large number of new enzymes, establish related gene bank (including uncultivable microbial source genes), through gene recombination and directional evolution technology, discovery and improvement of biological catalyst.
(2)The development and application of new catalytic function:on the basis of autonomous enzyme source, the biological catalyst properties and potential function, special emphasis on the application of "one enzyme" basic research, according to the catalytic characteristics of the biological catalyst, analyze the reaction substrate (product) structure, the catalytic group and the characteristics of the chemical bond, looking for the rule, through the chemical structure analysis, the design of new reaction and the desired purpose compound, bond specificity and chirality group specificity selection catalysis, thus reveals a series of new catalytic characteristics of enzymes and a series of new reactions.
(3)Microbial transformation optimization and technology integration: through the study of reaction mechanism of microbial metabolism and transformation, understanding the law of microbial whole cell catalysis and reaction balance, put forward the corresponding "micro environment regulation" measures, change the microenvironment of microbial transformation reaction, realize the microbial whole cell catalytic activity, selective human control.
(4) Industrialization of achievements: apply applied basic research results to product development to realize the industrialization of achievements.
